Each year, more than 1.5 million people - almost the equivalent of the entire population of Brooklyn - use Central Library. The library's notable architecture was created to resemble an open book, with the spine on Grand Army Plaza and the building's two wings opening like pages onto Eastern Parkway and Flatbush Avenue. Since the Dr. S. Stevan Dweck Center for Contemporary Culture and the renovated Plaza opened at Central Library, this library has been host to some of the very best outdoor concerts, performances, films, talks and art installations in Brooklyn.

Summer Reading
Summer Reading is a great way to connect with other readers and read what you want at your own pace. You can do fun, free activities. All ages, from babies to adults, can also earn prizes by reading and participating in activities. Pick up an age-appropriate game board or card from your library.
Would you like to get your class or community group signed up for Summer Reading? Contact classvisits@brooklynpubliclibrary.org to arrange for a visit from our staff. Or use this slideshow to spread the word about Summer Reading.
